Yarn Stories has unveiled Drift, its first collection for children aged 2-12 years old. Created by Sue Batley Kyle, the patterns feature delicious designs for the outdoors in Yarn Stories’ Fine Merino DK.

As the name suggests, Drift is inspired by the British Coastline. “This collection evolved YoungStories_Drift_S475_047from my interest in British seascapes, cliffs and headlands. The textures you seeeverywhere are reflected in my designs,” explains Sue Batley Kyle.

The patterns include sweaters for layering as well as accessories and all are rich in textures and patterning. “Fine Merino DK is a wonderful yarn which gives a fantastic stitch definition so I really wanted to bring out this feature,” Sue continues.

The design shapes are traditional with contemporary, quirky features such as belts, back neck tabs and stars motifs on the elbow. The photographs also have a the very modern feel that we have come to expect from Yarn Stories.

Drift patterns go on sale from 1st April on the Yarn Stories website.
